Grass yards (the most common)
Most backyard birthdays land on grass. Soft ground is friendly for kids’ feet around the unit, and we usually stake when the dirt will hold stakes safely. Before party day:
- Mow if the grass is very tall
- Mark sprinkler heads, holes, and pet waste
- Clear toys, bikes, and low branches
- Leave room for the blower and a walking path around the inflatable

Driveways, parking lots, and school pads work for many dry bounce houses when we use the right anchoring—often sandbags or weights instead of stakes. Hard surfaces need a clear, debris-free area with no sharp edges, oil spots, or broken concrete.

Indoors (gyms, fellowship halls, big rooms)
Many dry bounce houses can go indoors when the room is tall enough and wide enough, and we can anchor safely. Church gyms, school multipurpose rooms, and large community spaces are typical.

- Ceiling height (lights, beams, and basketball goals matter)
- Door width for delivery
- Floor type and what we can use for anchoring
- Power for the blower

Even in water slide season, the surface still matters. A water slide needs a flat outdoor spot, clear run-out for the splash zone, and working water access. Grass is common.
