Melissa city parks and bounce houses
Melissa has some good city parks. Melissa Lake Park at 4101 Liberty Way has a 10-acre lake, a playground, a small and a large pavilion, an amphitheater and a splash pad the city runs from 9am to 9pm, generally May through September. Zadow Park on McKinney Street has a pavilion, a playground, sand volleyball and ball fields, and Bob Miller Park on Miller Road has a pavilion, a playground, restrooms and a short loop trail.
Before you plan an inflatable at one of them, read the city's park rules and regulations: they say bounce houses (interactive inflatables) are specifically prohibited at City of Melissa park facilities. Pavilions and gazebos are still reserved through the city's Park Reservations page for a picnic or a gathering. For a Melissa party with a bounce house, though, the inflatable goes in your backyard. Hosting at a church, a school or a neighborhood amenity center instead? Get the space approved by whoever manages it, then text us the location.
Water slides when the splash pad is closed
The city opens the Melissa Lake Park splash pad generally from May through September. Outside that window, or when you would rather keep the kids at home, a water slide or a wet/dry combo in the backyard gives them the same kind of afternoon. Water units need a water source and water hose; we can provide a 25 ft hose.
