Pottsboro Parties We've Set Up
Every picture here was taken by our crew at a real Pottsboro party. The Monster Truck shots show the concrete side of our surface rule: on a driveway we hold the unit down with sandbags instead of stakes. The Ultra Tropical Wave went up on a backyard lawn, with ground tarps at the splash end.
Lake-house lawns: grass yes, beach no
The Bahamas Surf Wave in our first photo sits on a mowed lawn, which is exactly what a lake lot needs. Grass, turf, or concrete (secured with sandbags). Never on sand, plain dirt, or animal droppings; extra fees may apply. So the shoreline and any sandy beach area are off the table; pick the flattest stretch of grass between the house and the water. A water slide also needs a water source and water hose, and we can provide a 25 ft hose. The blower needs an outlet within 50 ft, so look for an exterior plug on the lake side of the house before party day.
Pottsboro's three city parks
The City of Pottsboro runs three municipal parks with more than 45 acres between them. Friendship Park, at 615 E Hwy 120, has playground equipment, a gazebo, picnic tables and benches, a historical bridge, restrooms and open space for soccer and baseball, and it hosts the annual Frontier Days festival. James G. Thompson Park, at 610 Grayson St, opened in September 2012 and covers 28 acres with ball fields, soccer fields, a fishing pond, a walking trail, a basketball court, a playground, a gazebo, two picnic shelters and a dog park. The Ball Park, also called Festival Park, at 310 Festival Park St, is mostly youth baseball and softball fields with a concession stand and a playground.
Reserving a gazebo or picnic shelter
According to the city, park gazebos and pavilions can be reserved first come, first served for parties, weddings or reunions from sun-up to sun-down, and the city charges $75.00 per day if you want to use the electricity. Since an inflatable blower runs on power, ask about that fee when you fill out the city's Park Facility Reservation Form, which City Hall at 528 E. FM 120 accepts in person. Ball fields are reserved separately. We set up in backyards and park pavilions around Pottsboro; check the park's own rules and reservation first. Once the city confirms your slot, send us the park and the hours you booked.
School, church and lake-house events
Most Pottsboro bookings are backyard and lake-house birthdays, and we also set up for churches and schools once the space is approved. Pottsboro ISD has three campuses, Pottsboro Elementary and Pottsboro High School on Hwy 120 and Pottsboro Middle School on Cardinal Lane, so a field day or school carnival needs the district's OK before we bring an inflatable.
